Preparing Our Hearts for eternity

A sanctuary

Every time we pray the Hail Mary, we close with a profound request: “Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.” The devotion to the Brown Scapular is fundamentally an extension of this very petition. It is a lifelong preparation for our final journey home, reminding us daily of our mortality and the glorious hope of eternal life.

The historical promises attached to the scapular are not reasons for presumption, but invitations to a holy life. Dying clothed in this sacramental means dying in a state of grace, completely reconciled with God. By wearing it faithfully each day, we are constantly practicing the art of surrender. We are telling Our Lady that we want her to be there to receive our soul at our final breath, ensuring that the garments of our earthly life seamlessly transition into the wedding robes of eternity.
