Who We Are

We are the Devotion Apostolate of the Discalced Carmelite Order whose main responsibility is to promote and spread the devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Brown Scapular in Nigeriaand Ghana. By so doing, we make Our Lady of Mount Carmel known and loved through her Brown Scapular — a garment of grace, a sign of salvation, and a mantle of maternal protection.

Rooted in the rich spiritual tradition of Mount Carmel, we work in schools, parishes, and families across Nigeria. We teach young and old to wear the Brown Scapular faithfully and to live under the maternal care and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

This Apostolate promotes:

• The meaning and history of the Brown Scapular

• The enrollment into the Confraternity of the Brown Scapular

• The Rosary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

• Songs in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

• Carmelite Marian Devotions in parishes, schools, and families
